From Danish design duo Norm Architects comes the fresh and contemporary Socket Occasional Lamp; a creation that uplifts a minimalist sculpture effect upon a practical everyday object. It resembles a pillar with a glowing spherical bulb set on top of it. The luminescent globe shaped bulb adds a form of mystery to this design. Once the lamp has been switched on, it replicates the glowing moon during the night. Take it with you to each of your new residences as a cherished keepsake to “occasionally” give you the comfort you need, just as the name suggests.
The lamp is substantially heavy despite its size, with a base cast from solid brass and a petite disposition that is meant to fit perfectly on any shelf, desk or side table. The inserted socket can be easily removed so that this lamp can also function as a paperweight or even just as a minimalistic piece of art. Norm Architects aim for ‘geometrical purity’ in their work and additionally wish to have a considerable expressive impact on the viewer with the least amount of material effort. It is their requirement that they create more streamlined and intuitive shapes that entices people to touch them and form a connection with them. This light would be the perfect accessory to provide a subtle and creative glow to your bookshelf or any nook in the home that lacks a decorative aesthetic or any form of light. The brass base will influence a luxurious, sophisticated and accomplished look in your interior.
