Perhaps my favourite Innermost table lamp, the Lateralis Lamp designed by Ben McCarthy in association with the leading British lighting brand Innermost, carefully contrasts glass, ash wood and brass. Indeed it’s easy to easy to see why this product was awarded the 2016 German design award special mention for excellent product design.
It’s this contrast of materials that we love… At the heart of the lamp is of course the glass, which is carefully crafted by artisan glass blowers. Seeming to follow the artists’ breath this glass appears to pour up and out. This glass shade is formed into a honey coloured dome, which appears to have what innermost describe as a “syrupy consistency”. Light is somewhat contained in the center light coloured glass tube, it ripples of the dark ash wood and reflects of the polished brass. Put simply design perfection!
This lovely lamp is 25cm tall and has a 25cm diameter and has a lovely form and shape. It comes with a G9 max 25w bulb fitting (bulb not included). A white cable creates a nice finishing touch to this modern lamp.
