Initially designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1952 for the canteen at Novo Nordisk, the famous Fritz Hansen Ant Chair is now one of the most prominent icons of chair design history. Designed for the international Danish healthcare company, Fritz Hansen soon realized how influential Arne Jacobsen’s design was.
The Ant chair is a classic piece outlining the approximate similarity of an ant raising its head. This exceptional design element is the most notable feature of the chair, the remainder comprising a sturdy chromed-steel base and a steam bent shell with nine layers of quality veneer. Furthermore, the chair is functionally pleasing with the ability to stack them up to twelve pieces. What’s more, this chair is available with three or four legs. The highly versatile design can be situated in almost any dining space or office interior. Contemporary and sleek, this chair is perfect for all modern residential and commercial spaces.
