Graypants

Founded in 2007 Graypants was started by Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker. The pair met at Architecture school, Both wearing the same Graypants (hence the name), where they both became qualified architects. Their friendship blossomed into a partnership when they started the brand in Seattle.

Graypants came out with their flagship line of lights made from repurposed cardboard, The Scraplights, in 2007 when they first set up shop. They are still continually prototyping their lights to get new designs and new lighting solutions, 9 years since they started.

In 2012 Graypants opened their Amsterdam office to be a local hub for all European production and distribution. Their Seattle office still heads up the production and distribution for North America. The Seattle office also deals with all of the prototyping.

In 2013 Graypants was awarded the AIA Seattle Award of Honor for their debut architecture project – The Garage. The garage combined their love of architecture, which lead to the created of Graypants itself, and their brand. Graypants are still one of the leading companies in Scraplights, and lights made from cardboard.
