WE DO WOOD is an eco-friendly, Danish brand that specialises in products made from Bamboo. They use Moso bamboo to create their products because it is the most sustainable form of wood.
The Moso bamboo is the fasted growing grass and quickly reaches maturity in 4-5 years meaning it is easily replaceable. Soft woods like pine and cedar take 10-20 years to reach a level where you can use it for producing products and Hardwoods like ash, birch and teak take 40-80 years. This means bamboo is the most eco-friendly as; it does not take a long time to grow back up again.
Bamboo naturally releases 1/3 more oxygen than equivalent tree, and absorbs 2/3 more carbon dioxide. With WE DO WOOD always replacing the bamboo they use, and it not taking a long time to grow back up, they are helping the planet by using a material that is good for the planet. Bamboo also grows best with no chemicals, herbicides, fertilizers or pesticides, Thus reducing their carbon foot print.
WE DO WOOD focus on making products that are inviting but ethical. They like to remember that ‘ethics and aesthetics go hand in hand’. They ensure their products are made to the highest standard whilst ensuring they are not damaging the planet.
All of their products come flat packed with easy at home assembly, this is so they do not have to use excess packaging and help the planet by creating as little waste as possible. All of their bamboo comes from a plantation in china and then transported to a European production factory to be made, this ensure that no unnecessary transportation is done.
