Resident

From all the way in New Zealand, the design driven company, Resident, was established in 2011 by the extremely talented duo, Simon James and Scott Bridgens. The design brand strives to produce products that offer both high levels of creativity and endless innovation. Despite wanting every product to fit seamlessly into a room, Resident’s mission is to create lighting and furniture that acts as an obvious contrast to its surroundings.

Behind every piece is a high level of craftsmanship and quality design. From the likes of Tim Rundle and their very own, Simon James, every product has been constructed with the finest materials including the timeless oak and contemporary brass. The range offers a wide variety of furniture and lighting pieces from floor lamps and wall lights to designer coffee tables and dining chairs. A couple of our favourites are the Offset Coffee Table and the Bloom Pendant Light . Resident believe that ‘an object should improve the everyday’. That is why the collection accommodates many needs of people’s everyday lives. Whether they want to host, work or recharge, there is something for everyone within this selection. We feel that Resident’s colour pallet is fairly minimal, allowing the brand to be homed in almost every interior aesthetic.

Resident understand that such a precious piece should stand the test of time. You can guarantee that your new treasure from Resident will be passed down through the generations. Each piece has been designed with the idea that furniture generally will endure wear and tear throughout its life. The manufacturing and distribution of every single piece is managed through its three homes in Auckland, London and Los Angeles, meaning every nook and cranny of these designs are developed, engineered and fabricated in-house, meaning technique, quality and scale can be managed continuously. Whilst you are here, why not explore the rest of the designer lighting and contemporary furniture collection that we have to offer?
