Such and fun my gosh this wallpaper will make you want to rejoice every day! This is very cool and quirky wallpaper, its a totally up to the minute wallpaper that while it clearly shows its African heritage it has a hint of art Deco, and you can see where the great 20th Century Artists like Picasso got their inspiration
Ardmore Ceramics is the brainchild of African Ceramic artist Fée Halsted, Fee started her studio in 1985 on the Ardmore farm, at the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa. Her aim was to train women as potters, there are now over 40 potters working, including men.
Over the last 30 years Ardmore Ceramics has become famous for their over the top, and fun filled designs - I covert their work myself.
Their work is wonderfully African and is inspired by myths and stories- featuring animals, flora and landscapes of Africa- it wonderful and unique work, I am not the only person blown away by their work, they have exhibited at museums all over the world, including Gerisch Museum, Museum of Arts and Design in New York. Christies in London called them "modern collectables" Elle Design describes them as "with aesthetics nothing less than marvellous" "over the top South African design sweetheart"
Ardmore's designs have been used by Hermes in their iconic scarves, world renowned silver smith Patrick Mavros, now they have collaborated with Cole and Son and created some wonderful unique wallpapers.
