The OW149 Colonial Chair was designed by the man behind the titular collection, Ole Wanscher. He wished to create furniture pieces that channelled the traditional style of Danish design that remained timeless. He succeeded with this chair as it became his most popular design. As a minimalist designer, Wanscher had a penchant for simple and clean lines and this can be seen throughout this design. The slender frame of this chair though does not compromise on it’s structural foundation, due to their premium craftsmanship.
The well-rounded edges create a softer feel to the design, with seamless integration of the cushions to create a rounded image. The legs are made from roundwood timber, accentuated with an oak or walnut frame, which support the leather or wool cushions.
